Mission Statement
Off-Broadway Family Outreach (OBFO), under the authority of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:7-8) is commissioned to further the Kingdom of God by working together with other members of the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Ephesians 4:11-16), preaching the Good News of the Kingdom of God, healing the sick, cleansing the lepers, raising the dead, and casting out demons (Matthew 10:1-15; Luke 9:1-5) rejoicing not that the spirits are subject unto us, but rather that our names are written in Heaven (Luke 10:18-19)
OBFO will accomplish this through powerfully anointed, Christ centered outreaches of deliverance and healing, going into the highways and byways (Matthew 18:10-14; Matthew 22:9) of neighborhoods to extend the hand of Truth with Love to those people referred to by some as the unreachable, unlovable, hopeless generation of unchangeable people despised and rejected by the world, yet loved by God (1 Corinthians 1:27-31; 2 Peter 3:9), instilling in them a sense of Hope, while making disciples of these and training them to train other disciples, thus continuing the unstoppable river of God's love to a generation He longs to be reconciled with (2 Corinthians 5:14-21).
Vision Statement
Proverb 29:18 "Where there is no vision the people perish" Any Church or ministry without a vision is already dead. It is therefore our desire that you "Catch" the vision that has been laid on our hearts here at OBFO before many people perish!
Our vision is as follows:
- To share the Good News of Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection with those entrusted to our care. From the lost and lonely wounded citizens of the inner city suburbs, to the gangs & drug lords, to the jails & prisons, to the homeless street urchins, all the way to the middle and upper-class citizens of societie's "Best," we reach out in God's Truth with Love.
- To work together with other ministries and churches in the process of developing and equipping these new Believers, as well as strengthening and encouraging established (often disillusioned) Believers until they are fully functioning, committed Disciples, able to assist in the same process in the lives of others.
- To help those in our care to recognize and understand God's design for their lives, recognize our threefold enemy's (the flesh, world system, and demonic forces) strategy against God's design, and then releasing them to do what they have been anointed and called to do.
- To assist in the development and strengthening of the family structure of these new disciples through Biblical training, intervention, counseling, and by providing an environment where strong family relationships are modeled that develop a commitment to effective Christian character and maturity.
- To provide strong Christian literature, publications, books, drawings, new songs, and pictures, illustrating the precepts for the principles we are seeking and exemplifying.
- To support and encourage other Christian outreaches, ministries, and churches, locking arms together with them in prayer, fellowship, battle, worship, & praise, that the Body of Christ may fulfill the Divine purposes of our Creator God.
- To meet the needs of those people who have neither sustenance, nor ability to provide for their own personal needs, nor the family under their own personal care.
- To gain access to people who are "Stuck-In-The-Mud," found in drug houses, gang neighborhoods, out in the streets, in homeless shelters, in treatment facilities, jails and prisons. These are those people we believe the Bible refers to (quoted by a great friend & Brother in the Lord, Neil Cole) as "Good Soil." "Good, because they already have a lot of fertilizer!"
- To develop new and original ways of communicating with the lost population of unsaved people and people groups within our community, our neighboring communities, our state, our country and beyond as the Lord allows us to progress in the work of His calling.
